SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY OF THE 2017 MARION CHRISTMAS STROLL

Sunday - December 8th 1:30 Tri-County Symphonic Band Holiday Concert - Concert Choir will be performing with the Band

2:30 – The Cottage Street Jam Band - Select 5 & 6 grade Band members, with Tri-County Band members lead the procession down Cottage Street to the Town Landing to greet Santa Claus

3:30 – Grade 4 (and Band-Aides) perform in the Marion General Store parking lot

4:00 – Grade 5 & 6 Band plays in the Marion General Store parking lot



WANT TO JOIN THE COTTAGE STREET JAM BAND? The Cottage Street Jam Band is a very informal gathering of musicians who have one task: They lead the procession from Sippican School down Cottage Street to the Town Landing – where they great Santa Claus, who arrives in a beautiful red lobster boat at 3PM, signaling the beginning of the Holiday Stroll. The repertoire: Rudolph the Red Noses Reindeer in Bb. The marching formation: “Peripatetic amoeba” – which requires no rehearsal. Students in grade 5 or 6 Band and adults interested in participating must sign-up in the Band Room, or email Mrs. Moore at: htcmoore@yahoo.com.


STROLL PERFORMANCE – December 8, 2018

TIME : 4:00 – 4:30 PM

WHO: All Grade 5 & 6  Band Members

WHERE: General Store Parking Lot

BRING: Your instrument, Band Book, paper clamps and a music stand (if you have one).

WEAR: Warm cloths.

Recommendations – Come to the Tri-County Symphonic Band concert (at 1:30) and walk down to the center of town with the Cottage Street Jam Band at 3:00. Folks are welcome to leave their cases in my truck while enjoying the Stroll and after their performance – but please take them home with you when you go. The Band Room door will be open ‘til 3PM.

Guests are VERY welcome to play with the band. Bring any friends or relations who play a band instrument.
