On September 11th we will have an in school demonstration of all the instruments for the 4th grade. On September 12th at 7PM we will also host an information session for beginner band families. The program will be explained in detail and instrument demonstrations requested will be repeated. You do not have to attend the meeting if you are a veteran Band family and know how all of this works. Sign-up forms will be handed out on the 12th, or are available on the Beginners page of the Sippican Band website.
SIGN-UPS ARE DUE SEPTEMBER 13th.
PROCUREMENT OF INSTRUMENTS
Most families opt for the Symphony Shop rent-to-buy program: it is the most affordable method in the region for putting quality instruments in your child’s hands on a payment plan with insurance and a maintenance contract. They also bring the instruments to Sippican on September 20th at 6PM for you – bring your ID and a check (not a credit card) for the 1stpayment. Neil Sylvia from the Symphony Shop will be at the meeting on September 12th, ready to explain their program.
Used instruments are often a good option, but do let me check out the instrument to make sure it is functional. The school does own a few instruments if you are unable to rent one at this time, but they are limited in quantity and quality. If this would make it possible for your child to participate, talk to me, and all conversations will be strictly confidential.
ALL INFORMATION IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE AT THE BAND ROOM PAGE OF THE SIPPICAN SCHOOL WEB SITE: sippicanband@weebly.com
Questions or concerns: email me ANYTIME at hannahmoore@oldrochester.org, or send a note to school.
