Sippican School Festival Band

THE FESTIVAL BAND meets at 8AM on Wednesdays. This band takes on extra challenges in music and has extra performances. We plan to play at AHA! night in December 7, and we will perform at the Music in our Parks  Festival in the spring (with a trip to 6 Flags after our performance). Festival Band also performs at a variety of school and community functions. In the past the band performed at the Sippican Lands Trust fair and at a retirement home in Falmouth. Any hard working 6th grader is welcome to participate, and capable 5th graders also join the group.

The FIRST Festival Band rehearsal is on September 17 at 8AM.

PARENTS: Please volunteer to help this year. If everyone chips in it is easy and fun for us all:
  • Set up chairs for the Stroll performance, General Store parking lot, December 14 at 2:30
  • FORM Concert equipment transport (back to Sippican after the concert) March 17
  • Chaperone a performance trip
  • Assist at Parade Rehearsals & Parade (8AM on May 8, 15 & 22)
  • BAND BLAST help – EVERYONE’S assistance is needed! If you have a job in mind, or a band blast idea, please use the back of this form to let me know.

This will be SO MUCH FUN!!!
Festival Band AHA! Night Performance Details
 
DATE: December 11, at 5PM. 
WHERE: Custom House Park, corner of Williams Street and 21 Barkers Lane, New Bedford,
BRING: Your instrument, Band Book & a foldable music stand if you have one.
WEAR: Warm, festive holiday clothes.
SET-UP: I will be packing my truck after school, leaving Sippican by 4PM. I will be setting up at the Park by 4:30. Any and all help welcome.
TRANSPORTATION: Families are in charge of getting their child to and from the performance. I know this may be hard with work schedules – car pool can be a good solution. Let me know if you need help connecting with a family to help you out.
There will be hot chocolate, cookies, a fire pit and lots of Holiday activities going on, including a major light show right at the Customs House after we finish.
parking is free at Elm Street and Zeiterion Garages
CAN’T MAKE IT? : Be sure to let me know. I can manage most things, but surprises (no shows) throw us all for a loop!
